The Sinfonia Youth Orchestra (SYO) program is the premier training orchestra in Northwest Florida and consists of more than 60 students who participate in a variety of ensembles that perform throughout the school year.

Sinfonia Gulf Coast Youth Orchestras’ mission is to provide the highest quality youth orchestra experience to students living in Northwest Florida. The orchestra program strives to create a culture of community, collaboration, and cultivation by ensuring that each member has an empowering musical experience through participation in the orchestras.

Sinfonia Youth Orchestra Ensembles

Sinfonietta Strings (Strings Only)

  • Eligibility: 1+ year of instruction or halfway through Essential Elements Book 1

  • Rehearsal Time: Sundays, 1:00–2:00 PM

  • Location: Destin High School Auditorium

    Tuition: $160/ semester

Intermediate Symphonic Orchestra (New this year!)

  • Eligibility: 2–3 years of instruction (Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion)

  • Rehearsal Time: Sundays, 2:15–3:15 PM

  • Location: Destin High School Auditorium

          Tuition: $210/ semester

Advanced Symphonic Orchestra

  • Eligibility: 3–4+ years of instruction (Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion)

  • Rehearsal Time: Sundays, 3:30–5:30 PM

  • Location: Destin High School Auditorium

    Tuition: $275/semester

Additional Opportunities

Chamber/Pop Group

  • Selected students from the Advanced Symphonic Orchestra

  • Perform contemporary music at community events

Student Collaborative Pianist

  • Must be accepted into the Advanced Symphonic Orchestra

  • Will accompany either Sinfonietta or Intermediate groups

  • Great for community service hours and advanced skill-building
